Born in Izegem, Frederik Deberdt naturally studied dance at the Royal Ballet School of Flanders. In 1999, he was a finalist in the Eurovision Contest, took part in the Varna Competition, while being engaged at the Royal Ballet of Flanders, directed by Robert Denvers. He also danced in the Young Ballet of Europe, created by Jean-Charles Gil in Marseille. In 2001, he has joined the Malandain Ballet Biarritz, where he has performed most of the major roles in the repertoire.

At the same time, he has recreated some of Thierry Malandain’s ballets in various companies such as the Ballet du Capitole in Toulouse, the Metz Opera, and the Ballet du Rhin, as well as at the Cuban National Ballet School.

Born in Novosibirsk, in Russia, Anna studied dance at her local dance school before joining the Bolshoi Ballet in 1997. Promoted to soloist a year later, she was coached by the legendary ballerina Raisa Struchkova. In 2004, she joined the National Hungarian Ballet as a principal and since 2007, she has been developing in this position at the Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam.

She has been the guest dancer in many companies such as the Royal Ballet in London, the Vienna Opera Ballet, the Rome Opera Ballet, the Hong Kong Ballet, the Tatarstan National Ballet,…

Her repertoire includes all the major classical roles, although she also boasts an impressive contemporary repertoire. She has also created several roles, particularly under the leadership of Christopher Wheeldon, Alexei Ratmansky or even Hans Van Manen.

In 2008, she received the “Alexandra Radius Prize”. In 2013, she was given the Benois de la Danse for Cinderella by Christopher Wheeldon, and in 2014, she won the Open Prize at the Dance Grand Prix.

Her films include Quichote, Cinderella, Giselle and the Nutcracker.

Originally from the Ukraine, Denys studied dance with Vadim Pisarev at the Donetsk Ballet Academy before joining the Heinz Bosl Ballet Academy in Munich at the age of 16. Two years later, he became a professional dancer at the Vienna Opera Ballet. He was promoted to demi-soloist in 2008, soloist in 2009 and made the grade of Principal in 2012, directed by Manuel Legris.

Denys has taken part in many international competitions, notably winning 2^nd prize at the Kiev International Youth Competition in 2004, 1^st prize at the Serge Lifar Competition in Kiev in 2004, 1^st prize at the Tanzolymp competition in Berlin in 2005, junior silver medal at the Jackson International Competition in 2006, 1^st prize at the Vienna International Contemporary Dance Competition in 2007, silver medal at the Korean International Ballet Competition in 2010 and 1^st prize and gold medal at the 25^thVarna International Ballet Competition in 2012.

He was nominated for the Prix Benois de la Danse in 2011 for his performance in “The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude” by William Forsythe.

He is regularly invited to dance with other companies, particularly in Italy, Russia and France, and also the United States.

Denys is a regular in Liège as he has been teaching classical ballet for 3 summers at the Liège International Summer School organised by the Stage de Danse non-profit organisation.

Née dans le Devon, Lauren a étudié la danse à l’école du Royal Ballet entre 1995 et 2002. En 2001, elle gagne le Prix de la Meilleure Jeune Danseuse Anglaise de l’année et est invitée en 2002 à rejoindre le Royal Ballet sous la direction de Ross Stretton puis Monica Masson qui la nommera Principal en 2008.

Lauren est récompensée de nombreux prix, comme celui de ‘Outstanding Female Artist’ à la remise des prix du Cercle National de la Danse (en 2004) ou de la médaille d’argent au très célèbre Concours International de Varna en 2006 où elle représentait l’Angleterre.

Son répertoire inclus notamment Odette/Odile, Giselle, Aurore, la Fée Lilas et Princesse Florine, Cendrillon, Juliette, Sugar Plum Fairy, Myrtha, Manon et La Maitresse de Lescaut, Nikiya et Gamzatti, Polyphonia, DGV : Danse à grande vitesse, La Valse, Sérénade, Dances at a Gathering, Volontaires, Les Sylphides, Les Patineurs, Scènes de Ballet et Ballo della regina.

Elle a créé La Glace dans Les Saisons, le rôle-titre d’Alice au Pays des Merveilles et divers rôles dans Tryst, Qualia, Infra, Acis et Galatea (Royal Opera), and Live Fire and Carbon Life.

Igone de Jongh a grandi dans la ville hollandaise d’Haarlem. C’est à l’âge précoce de six ans, après avoir vu « La Belle au Bois Dormant » à la télévision qu’elle a découvert la danse, une vraie révélation !

Après ses études secondaires, elle se forme à l’Académie du Ballet National d’Amsterdam puis à l’Ecole du Ballet Royal de Londres.

En 1995 et 1996, elle remporte les prix « Incentive Prize Dansersfonds ’79 » et « Arnold Haskell » en tant que jeune danseuse prometteuse. En 2000, elle reçoit l’ « Incentive Prize 2000 » et en 2003,  le prix Alexandra Radius.

Actuelle Etoile du Ballet National de Hollande, elle est la seule danseuse de la compagnie à être passée par tous les grades, depuis celui d’aspirante, en 1997, pour atteindre le titre d’Etoile en 2003 à l’âge de 24 ans.

Igone De Jongh est connue pour ses interprétations exceptionnelles du grand répertoire classique, notamment dans Romeo et Juliette, Le Lac des Cygnes, Giselle, La Belle au Bois Dormant ou encore dans Casse-Noisette.

Elle est aussi apparue dans La Bavadère dans La Sylphide de Bournonville, dans Agon, Appolon et Jewels de Balanchine, ainsi que dans des ballets chorégraphiés par William Forsythe, Ted Brandsen, David dawson et Wayne Eagling.

Elle demeure la muse incontestée du chorégraphe Hans van Manen.

Réunissant classicisme et modernité, elle a également fait une apparition dans le clip vidéo « Birds » de la célèbre chanteuse hollandaise Anouk lors du concours de la chanson de l’Eurovision.

Née au Japon, Aki y apprend l’art de la danse dès son plus jeune âge. Elle remporte le 1^er Prix au Coucours des Jeunes Danseurs au Japon en 1990 et la médaille d’or au Concours International de Houlgate en France. Elle est récompensée du « Fresh Prize » par le comité d’éducation d’Iwate au Japon et reçoit une bourse d’étude au Prix de Lausanne en 1991 qui lui permet de continuer son apprentissage de la danse à l’école de Ballet d’Anvers. En 1994, elle entre au Ballet Royal de Flandres sous la direction de Robert Denvers en tant que demi-soliste pour devenir, en 1998, première soliste. C’est en 2004 qu’elle accède au grade très convoité de Principal, et a dansé depuis, tous les grands rôles du répertoire classique et contemporain de la compagnie. Une nouvelle version du Lac des Cygnes a été créée pour elle et son partenaire Wym Vanlessen par Marcia Haydée.

Aki est régulièrement invitée dans de nombreux Galas Internationaux comme le Gala des Etoiles à Paris, le Prix de Lausanne, le « Dancesalad » à Huston, le Gala de Prague, le Festival du Ballet de Aoyama à Tokyo; ou comme danseuse invitée dans diverses compagnies, telle le Ballet de Santiago. Elle a également fait partie du Gala International précédent les Jeux Olympiques de Nagano en 1998.

Quand son emploi du temps lui autorise, elle juge les talents de la nouvelle génération. On a pu la compter dans le jury du Prix de Lausanne en 2003, 2005 et 2007 ainsi qu’au Prix Carpeaux en 2009. En 2007, elle reçoit le Prix de la Critique de « Ballet 2000 » à Cannes.

Sa carrière exceptionnelle au Ballet de Flandres vient d’être célébrée lors de sa dernière apparition en tant qu’Etoile, fin 2018, marquant sa transition professionnelle. Elle officie actuellement en tant que professeur à l’Ecole de Ballet d’Anvers, pour le plaisir et la fierté de ses nouveaux élèves.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ludmila began her intensive dance training at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colon. She had the chance to work with renowned teachers such as Rina Valverde, Mario Gallizzi, Andrea Bengochea, Héctor Barriles, Mirta Furioso and Olga Ferri. End of 1999, she decided it was time for a new challenge and joined the National Ballet of Santiago de Chile at the age of 15 and a half, and was promoted to soloist two years later, being offered leading roles in the company’s productions.

Winner of the “Igor Youskevitch” Prize in 2003, she won the silver medal at the 7th International Dance Competition in New York and was offered a one-year contract at the American Ballet Theater. That same year, she decided to take on another challenge, this time in France, by becoming the first Argentinean dancer to join the Paris Opera Ballet. She reached the title of Coryphée in 2006, and Sujet the following year. At the end of the annual Concours, Ludmila was promoted to First Dancer on 18 November 2009. The same year, she was awarded the “Premio Konex” by the Argentine Konex Foundation.

On 22 March 2012, during a performance of “La Bayadère”, broadcast live in cinemas across Europe, where she danced the role of Gamzatti, Ludmila was promoted to Principal Dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet.

As Principal, she has danced the leading roles in the great classical repertoire while having the opportunity to diversify her repertoire with choreographers such as Mats Ek, Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker, Emmanuel Gat pour, Benjamin Millepied, Sasha Waltz, Pina Baush, Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Hans Van Manen, …

Regularly invited to other companies and to the most prestigious international Galas, she has performed in “Paquita” at the Bolshoi, “Giselle” in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and in “La Sylphide” at the Mariinsky.

Ludmila was awarded the honorary rank of “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” as well as the coveted “Benois de la Danse” for best dancer in 2017, in front of a very prestigious jury chaired by Yuri Grigorovich.

In 2022, she has quite naturally signed the preface of the anniversary book of The Hivernales de la Danse, “10 ans d’Etoiles”, having participated in the very first edition of the Gala in 2013 with Mathieu Ganio, as well as in 2018 with Karl Paquette. It is with great pleasure that we find her for this 11th edition alongside the Belgian Thomas Docquir.

Originaire de Hoeilaart, ce belge débute la danse à l’âge de six ans. Il se forme à l’école Royale de Ballet d’Anvers, d’où il sort gradué en 2013. Durant sa scolarité, il a participé à de nombreuses compétitions internationales dont le Prix de Lausanne, Helsinki IBC et le YAGP 2012. En solo classique comme en contemporain, il a remporté une bourse d’étude, la médaille d’or, d’argent et de bronze ainsi que le Dance Europe Prize.

Juste après son diplôme, Arne est engagé au Ballet Royal de Flandres en tant qu’apprenti, pour entrer dans le corps de Ballet l’année suivante. Depuis il a dansé de nombreux rôles de soliste et on se réjouit de le découvrir aux Hivernales de la Danse 2015 !
