Born in Busan, Jaeyong An trained at Sunhwa Arts High School before continuing his studies at the Korea National University of Arts, graduating in 2015. Alongside his training, he gained his first stage experience in 2011 with the Universal Ballet Company and performed regularly in productions at Korea National University of Arts.
During his academic years, his talent was quickly recognized at international competitions: he was a finalist at the Cape Town International Ballet Competition and won First Prize along with special awards at the Concours international de Grasse.
In 2016, he began his professional career with the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, which launched his international trajectory. He was promoted to Principal Dancer, performing leading roles in the repertoire of the company’s director Jean-Christophe Maillot and quickly establishing himself through his outstanding technique and compelling stage presence.
