American-Estonian dancer, Mikaela began her training at the American Ballet Theatre JKO School before continuing her studies at The Juilliard School, where she earned a BFA in Dance. During her training, her exceptional talent was quickly recognized: in 2017, she received the Princess Grace Award in Dance, a major honor in the world of contemporary dance awarded by the Princess Grace Foundation–USA to support emerging artists.
The following year, Mikaela joined the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 in the Netherlands, marking the beginning of her professional career. During her three seasons with the company, she performed works by internationally renowned choreographers such as Marco Goecke, Alexander Ekman, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Dimo Milev, Edward Clug, and Jiří Kylián.
In 2021, she joined the Ballett Theater Basel in Switzerland, where she continued to expand her personal repertoire through creations by creative director Marco Goecke, as well as Marcos Morau, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Martin Zimmermann, and Sharon Eyal.
Two years later, Mikaela became a member of GöteborgsOperans Danskompani in Sweden, for two seasons marked by new performances and a deep exploration of her artistic voice.
In 2025, Mikaela embarks on a new chapter in her career as a freelance artist. She now develops her dance through a wide range of projects, collaborations, and international invitations.
