Rosario Guerra, Staatsballett Hannover

Born in Naples, Rosario Guerra received his training in classical and contemporary dance at the Spazio Danza School directed by Annalisa Cernese. He then got in the Scuola del Balletto di Toscana in Florence, under the direction of Cristina Bozzolini, and became straightaway member of the Junior Balletto di Toscana. 

After a meticulous pre-professional training, he began his solo career in 2009 at the Balletto Teatro di Torino, under the direction of Loredana Furno.

He then joined Gauthier Dance company, where he performed choreographies by Eric Gauthier, Alejandro Cerrudo, Jiří Kylián, Mauro Bigonzetti, Paul Lightfoot & Sol León, Christian Spuck, Jirí Bubenícek, Itzik Galili, Marco Goecke, Cayetano Soto, Ohad Naharin and Hofesh Schechter. 

In August 2019, Rosario Guerra joins the Staatsballett Hannover, first under the direction of Marco Goecke, and now Christian Blossfeld.

In 2011, Rosario was awarded with the Danza&Danza Prize as Best Italian Dancer Abroad, followed with the nomination as one of the Best Dancers of the 2012/2013 season by the Dance for you Magazine. In 2016, he was nominated Male Dancer of the Year by the “Jahrbuch Tanz”, and Newcomer of the Month by the “Tanz” German Magazine. The same year, “Dance for you Magazine” named him Best Young Dancer of the Year and twice as Best Male Dancer of the Year as Principal Dancer. “Tanz” named him Best Dancer of the Year for two years in a row, he again won the “Dance for you Magazine” title, and he was also nominated for “DER FAUST 2018” with Marco Goecke’s solo “Infant Spirit”. In July 2021, he won the “Premio Napoli in Danza” award as Best Italian Dancer abroad of the Year.
